How We Rate

The scoring system applied to every non GamStop casino on this site — the same rules, whether or not we earn commission.

Six weighted criteria

Each casino not on GamStop is scored out of 10. The weighting reflects what UK players notice first: the games, the true value of the bonus, and how quickly winnings arrive.

Criterion Weight What we check
Games and software 25% Slot library size, studios, jackpots, live casino and published RTPs
Bonus and free spins value 20% Wagering, max bet, expiry, game weighting and caps on winnings
Payments and payouts 20% GBP support, cards, e-wallets, crypto, fees, limits and processing times
Licensing and ownership 15% Regulator, licence holder, register check and complaint route
Safer gambling and support 10% Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and live support
Account experience 10% Sign-up, KYC, mobile play and clarity of terms

How wagering changes a headline bonus

A big percentage is easy to advertise and hard to clear. Take a £50 deposit with a 200% bonus (£100) at 35x on bonus only: you must wager £3,500. If wagering applies to deposit plus bonus, that becomes £5,250. We score the cost of clearing, not the headline.

We also check whether table games count at 10% or not at all, whether the bonus expires in 7 or 30 days, and whether the maximum cashout is limited to a multiple of the bonus.

How we judge free spins

  • Value per spin and the eligible slot (and its RTP).
  • Whether free spins winnings are wager-free or carry wagering.
  • Caps on what free spins winnings can pay out.
  • Whether spins are released in daily batches or all at once, and how quickly they expire.
  • No-deposit free spins are rated separately, as they usually carry the strictest caps.

Payments and withdrawals

Fast payout claims are reported as advertised, not measured. We prefer non GamStop casinos that offer GBP accounts, clear weekly limits, no fees on standard withdrawals and fast e-wallet or crypto payouts once KYC is complete.

Licensing checks

We look up the licence number on the regulator's register and confirm the company named matches the site footer. Unverifiable licences lose heavily on this criterion and may be excluded altogether.

Red flags that lower a score

  • Hidden or contradictory bonus terms.
  • Withdrawal limits below £2,000 per week.
  • Dormancy or withdrawal fees not shown in the cashier.
  • Unresolved patterns of payout complaints.
  • No responsible gambling tools at all.

Updates and independence

Scores are re-checked regularly and whenever an operator changes its bonus or free spins terms. Commission never buys a position — see About Us for how the site is funded, and our responsible gambling guide for support.
